can you see the carpet flying? (2025, Croatia): At the residency program OPE.N in Zagreb, I explored the issues related to the lack of adequate support by independent cultural actors, especially regarding public cultural infrastructure. On the corner of my temporary home, I encountered the carpet that urged me to reclaim it as a space, transforming it into a temporary ground for gathering, sharing, and creating. I invited local artists Mihaela Spiegl, Jiao Guo, and Lucija Maroević to join me in its revitalisation. Together, we inhabited this physical and conceptual space through conversation, participatory exercises, and storytelling woven through objects and their relations. This carpet became our micro cultural space, a temporary squat, a site of collective creation that reflected the formation of cultural spaces of the independent art scene. The title suggests its nomadic and intangible qualities.
